APerfectFit                                                                                                                                                                                                                    The next morning the King, Queen and Maryanne had applesauce pancakes, sausage, and grapes for breakfast.

After breakfast the Queen spoke “O.K. Maryanne, are you ready to start looking for a ball gown?” “Yes Mother I’m ready.” Maryanne replied.

Later that day, after visiting several dress shops, Maryanne finally said “Mother this is the one! I’ve found the dress! Isn’t it pretty?!?” And indeed it was pretty. It was a hot pink dress with long sleeves that had puffs at the top, and a long, flowing, skirt. “Oh my, that dress is beautiful, but before we can even think about buying this dress for you we must know if it fits you. Go into the dressing room dear and try it on. I’ll wait out here. Ellen, you go in with Maryanne and help her put the dress on.” Ellen quietly followed Maryanne into the dressing room as her Mistress had told her to do.

After several minutes Maryanne came walking out in the dress. “What do you think, Mother?” She asked. “Oh dear, you look like a dream.” Queen Isabelle replied, happily. “Oh Mother do you really think so?” The delighted Princess asked. “Yes I really think so.” Queen Isabelle happily replied. “So we can get the dress?” Princess Maryanne asked, hopefully. “Yes dear we can get the dress.” Queen Isabelle answered.

3. A Bear Called Paddington (Series)

Paddington is always getting into trouble. And he doesn’t just get into little trouble, he gets into BIG trouble! Every chapter is its own story, and every chapter Paddington gets into trouble. Paddington is always making us laugh. This book is a great read-a- loud. (Paddington’s website is here)

Mr. Whittaker sends cousins Patrick  and Beth on all sorts of adventures. On their adventures they see real vikings and go to Rome. They go to England and they go to China. There adventures seem to never end!

5. American Girl Books (Series)

Most of these great books are historical fiction, but there are also books about girls of today. (Also fiction). There are stories about girls who lived during the Victorian times, the Great Depression, 1970’s, and many more. These are some of my favorite books!

6. Frog and Toad (Series)

I think that these books are best for ages 3-5, but I think that most 6-9 year olds would enjoy them also. No matter what frog and toad are doing, from acting onstage to playing hide and seek, they are always having fun!

7. Little Bear (Series)

Adorable little bear is always doing something fun such as going to the moon, making birthing soup, or playing in the snow.

8. Magic Tree House (Series)

Siblings Jack and Sally find a tree house full of books. They quickly figure out that if they point at a picture in one of the books from the tree house, and say something like “I want to go there” or “I want to see that” that they can! follow Jack and Annie on their adventures as they watch dinosaur eggs hatch, find pirate treasure, find a secret passage in a castle, and much, much more!

9. Find a Good Guide Book

I like Zoo Guide, Aquarium Guide, Museum Guide, Fun With Nature, and More Fun With Nature.

10. A Little Princess

Young Sarah Crew is rich – intill her dear father loses every penny they own, and dies of surprise, stress, and jungle fever. After her fathers death, Sarah is turned into a scullery maid. Will young Sarah have her happy ever after, or die a mistreated servant?

11. The Pocket Daring Book for Girls

The Pocket Daring Book for Girls is great for a camping trip, bonfire, or even just a game of tag or hopscotch. This book teaches you how to tie different types of knots, make a zip line in your own backyard, fry an egg on the sidewalk, (Though you shouldn’t eat it!) and much more!
